How do I sell my ETFs?
How you sell your Smart ETF depends on where you hold them.
Smart ETFs are listed on the NZX. You can withdraw your investment at any time by selling your holdings.
Smart manages the ETFs but doesn't sell ETF units directly. This means you can choose a broker or investment platform that best suits your needs.
If your ETFs are held through an investment platform (such as Sharesies or InvestNow), simply log in to that account and place a sell order through that platform. Check with your investment platform provider for details.
If you invested through a financial adviser, they can help you place the sell order.
If you invested directly with Smart, you will need to sell through an investment platform (such as Sharesies or InvestNow) or a broker or NZX Participant.
Once you’ve created an account with your preferred broker, or investment platform you will need to transfer the ETF holding to that account and then go through their sell function.
You may be asked for your CSN (Common Shareholder Number) and FIN (Faster Identification Number) to access your holdings.
If you do not know your CSN or FIN, please contact MUFG Corporate Markets on (09) 375 5998 or enquiries.nz@cm.mpms.mufg.com
Note:
Brokerage fees may apply when selling your investment. Please contact your adviser or investment platform for more information.
If you are planning to sell all your units and close your Smart ETF account, make sure you also cancel any active regular savings plan in the investor portal.
